May 17th 2006:
Cedric Verdier pushed the limits of the Sra Keow Cave to 201m / 663ft.
For this 6 hour-long dive, he used a standard ISC Megalodon Closed-Circuit Rebreather with an axial scrubber and no major modification (except oil-filled handsets and battery compartments to withstand the pressure). The Megalodon CCR performed flawlessly at these extreme depths.
This dive was the deepest dive ever done with a Megalodon, and also the deepest cave / rebreather dive ever done in Asia.
For this exploration, his team mate was Mike Gad, a rebreather diver who used an Ouroboros CCR to dive to a maximum depth of 186m/610ft.
February 2007:
The Asian Cave Diving Club finally reached the bottom of Sra Keow cave in Thailand. Thanks to an impressive logistics and several set-up dives, the team reached a maximum depth of 240m/784ffw (measured by calibrated F1 Depth Gauge) during a 10-hour dive conducted on the 18th of february 2007. During this dive, the deep divers safely explored and surveyed the deepest part of the cave. They used open circuit scuba and Closed-Circuit Rebreather.
Decompression was calculated with V-Planner and Z-Planner softwares and was partly done in a very comfortable habitat under the direct supervision of a medical team.
